CU-See Me is an on-going videoconferencing project at Cornell University. We have provided the latest three versions of the program here as a convenience to users that do not have access to ftp capabilities.
Please pay special attention to the Read Me and Changes files in the enclosed folders. Much of the CU-SeeMe documentation is historical in nature, meaning that the information you need might be in the notes for a version previous to the one you are using (i.e., information is documented for the first version that includes a feature or a fact is known, but not duplicated in the sections on later versions).
Special notes to QuickCam users who are trying to use CU-SeeMe:
• Connectix has done modest testing of this product on our own internal AppleShare-based network on a wide variety of Macs, but we cannot guarantee you'll have the same results on your network.
• You need a VERY fast modem in order to use QuickCam and CU-SeeMe over standard telephone connections. By very fast we mean at least 32kbps, maybe even faster. CU-See Me requires about 24kbps just to do audio.
• For best results, it would be preferable to use an Apple Built-in Microphone rather than the QuickCam microphone with CU-SeeMe.
Inclusion of CU-SeeMe on this CD-ROM does not imply endorsement of QuickCam or Connectix by Cornell University or White Pine Software.
